Vale do Tejo Wine
3 major terroirs can be defined in the region.
The Charneca is located south of the field, on the left bank of the Tagus River, with sandy and medium fertile soils has potential for the production of red and white wines.
The Bairro are Located between the Vale do Tejo Valley and the foothills of Porto de Mós, Candeeiros and Montejunto, with clay-limestone soils, this neighborhood is an ideal terroir for red grape varieties.
The Campo is located on the extensive plains adjacent to the Tagus River subject to periodic flooding. These are responsible for the high soil fertility rate and make this a prime area for the production of white wines. The natural fertility of the region requires precision viticulture.
